👔 Protecting Your Wardrobe: Informed Consent for Dry Cleaning

At PureSpace, we pride ourselves on our extensive expertise in textile care. While we appreciate your trust in us, it's crucial to shed light on the inherent nature of textiles and what transpires during the dry cleaning process.

🧵 Textile Aging: A Natural Occurrence 🕰️

Textiles, no matter their quality, age naturally with time. Factors like exposure to light, air, and everyday wear gradually affect fabrics, leading to subtle changes such as color fading, minor wear, and softening.

💼 Understanding Dry Cleaning Effects 💦

When you choose our services, rest assured that we employ cutting-edge techniques and decades of experience. However, it's imperative to recognize that the dry cleaning process, while highly effective, involves specific actions that can contribute to minor textile changes:

🔄 Gentle Friction: We may need to lightly agitate fabrics to remove stains, which can result in minimal abrasion.

🔥 Controlled Cleaning: Our process employs heat and specialized chemicals, which may cause a subtle loss of fabric luster and/or color. (i.e. we may see a slight variance in the depth of color after cleaning. In leather/suede manufacturing, the tanner immersed the skin in a dye to obtain a uniform color, but skins from various parts of the animal may vary in colorfastness. Some dyes used in leathers are very soluble in dry-cleaning fluids. This may  result in a drastic overall color loss.)

🌡️ Temperature & Oils: Variations in temperature during cleaning can lead to slight alterations in elasticity or texture. (i.e. during tanning, leathers are impregnated with oils to keep them supple. Some of these oils are lost in cleaning, and although the professional leather cleaner has special additives to restore suppleness, there could be some change in feel or hand of the garment.)

✅ Your Informed Consent 📝

Your consent is a testament to our dedication to providing unparalleled service while safeguarding your most cherished pieces. In addition to the usual, normal wear, suede and leather garments are susceptible to hazards inherent in the fact that they are skins of animals:

  • Unless all pieces of a multi-piece garment are processed at the same time, there cannot be a guarantee that they will match in color after cleaning.

  • Changes in shade may occur. The garment may become lighter or darker after cleaning.

  • Not all stains can be safely removed.

  • Shrinkage of suede and leather garments can be unpredictable.
Heat used in the cleaning process can cause skins to become tender, stiff or brittle.

  • Thin skins or defects in skins may break open in cleaning. Insect bites and scars on skins which were covered with fillers during manufacturing may show after cleaning.

  • Unevenly matched skins may appear differently after cleaning.
Glues and adhesives used by some manufacturers may melt and stain the garment when cleaned.

  • Combinations of light and dark skins and/or fabrics may bleed into each other when cleaned. If a garment has been dyed in multiple colors, those colors may bleed into one another.
